About Me

J O Huppler

Jane’s paintings are primarily landscapes from Minnesota lake country and South Dakota prairie. She resides on Mille Lacs Lake in Minnesota with her first husband, one golden retriever, one rescue dog, and an old barn cat. Occasionally her four children or her grandchild drop by for a visit. Her primary media is oil paint on canvas but she has dabbled in water color as well. She is an amateur cellist and has a Master of Science in Nursing.

My original oil paintings are presently based on what I know and so feature mostly South Dakota prairies, Minnesota lakes and woodlands, and children. I occasionally throw in something odd (for instance my Pirate Ship paintings) by special requests from special people.

My goal for my paintings

To create beautiful, high quality, art suitable for hanging on any wall in a home or business. My paintings are not designed to raise attention to a cause or explore important cultural or world issues; rather they are planned to elicit feelings of peacefulness, tranquility, and maybe some happy memories or imaginings. The realistic style of my paintings is intended to allow the viewer to “walk into” the scene; perhaps taking a mental mini-vacation in the landscape.
